Gang Green bolstered its defensive line by acquiring two-time Pro Bowler Haason Reddick in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles Friday,

In exchange, the Eagles acquired a conditional 2026 third-round pick that could be a second. The third-round pick becomes a second if Reddick plays at least 67.5% of the upcoming season and has 10 or more sacks, If not, it becomes a 2023 third-round pick.

Reddick is entering the final year of his three-year, $45 million deal and is expected to receive a new contract with his new team, The Jets are taking on $14.5 million of Reddick’s compensation for 2024, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports. The Eagles will pay the $1 million signing bonus.

The Jets get Reddick, a seven-year veteran out of Temple, after losing edge rusher Bryce Huff in free agency. Huff signed a three-year, $51.1 million deal with the Eagles after recording a team-high 10 sacks with Gang Green last season.

Reddick made it to the Pro Bowl in his last two seasons with the Eagles. Last season, the 29-year-old recorded 11 sacks, 38 tackles, including 13 for a loss, in 17 regular-season games with the Eagles.

The recent trade continues a busy offseason for Jets general manager Joe Douglas in hopes to eventually end the team’s 13-season playoff drought. Douglas added wide receiver Mike Williams and fortified the offensive line by bringing in tackles Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses and guard John Simpson.

Defensive tackles Javon Kinlaw and Leki Fotu are also new additions that will share the field alongside Reddick.
